Located 17 miles west of downtown, Bel Air is part of what is known as the golden triangle. At the heart of the city is the Bel Air Country Club And the Hotel Bel Air. Residence there tend to be much more private and hidden with winding roads and well-manicured hedges and gates. House can range from modest ranch style homes to multi story configurations to grand mansions. While homes can seem modest from the outside often only 6 feet from the street they do have rather large grounds. The higher you go up the mountain the smaller the lot and the more modest the houses are. Homes on Stradella Road have magnificent views of the Los Angeles Basin and Catalina Island. The most desirable properties are off the Bel Air Country Club entrance with views of the country club and the Rest of Los Angeles. Many families prefer lower Beal Air because of its proximity to Sunset Boulevard, Lower Bel Air homes have been known sell for over 50 million. Multi-Family housing is not permitted within the community and strict ordinances regarding architectural styles, landscaping and lot size exist to preserve the quality of life and character of the city. The city has no residential sidewalks in an attempt to discourage the public from walking around the community and is heavily patrolled by local security company’s to reinforce the safety and privacy of its residents. |
